HAIL resistance

Weathering conditions ever more unstable which in the warm months they converge in frequent and violent hailstorms, are increasingly focussing of the roofing designers to consider products able to contrast this type of atmospheric phenomenon.

Composite materials such as fiberglass have always been used in markets where mechanical resistance plays a fundamental role. Let’s think to the racing cars bodies, rather than the hulls of boats, where fibreglass, thanks to its recognized characteristics, is widely used.

  • Lightness
  • Mechanical resistance
  • Corrosion resistance

These are the main qualities associated to fiberglass products.

With the same principle, Magniplast designs its own fiberglass sheets, to offer unparalleled resistance. This is how, over the years, we have manufactured our fiberglass laminates increasingly resistant to both distributed loads (snow/wind) and concentrated loads (hail).

With our new formulations we are able to provide high resistance to hail.

With just 0.9mm thickness, our sheets can resist ut to 4cm diameter hailstones!
